The Conquistador Motel (3x09) ![]() APPALLINGLY AMAZING. With the bright stucco walls and the bullfight artwork. Love the bright bold bedding that was so nicely taken advantage of with that overhead shot of Dean in agony. That's, what, Spanish style decor? I am bad with era's and styles. Clearly somebody else should be making this post. All I know is that the set designer clearly went all out with this one, and I love him for it. Details: Exterior 1, exterior 2 and leaflet. Prop re-Use: Painting from Crossroad Blues and bedding from Playthings. The Adaly (???) Motel (3x10) ![]() ![]() ![]() If the last one was one of my favourites THIS ONE IS MY ACTUAL FAVOURITE. Such gorgeous vibrant colours, and so many details to ogle. There's a whole tropical exotic vibe to this one, and a sense of the outdoors being indoor which compliments the feel of skewed reality from the dream sequences, and worked with the visual where the forest morphing in to the motel corridor. Note the grass-like rug, the exposed brick, the numerous prints of exotic birds, the dove room divider, Details: Exterior , leaflet, and map on back of door. Prop Re-use: Clock from Nightmare and Route 666. Flamingo Des Palm (3x11) ![]() Sam's least favourite motel room OF ALL TIME EVER. This one would be, what, 60's retro beach resort? There are flamingo's on the wall, people! And in the bathroom divider. Poor boys, so rarely do they get to rest their heads in manly rooms. Love the whole pastel colour scheme goin' on in this one. The open concept bathroom is interesting to say the least. *g* Note the return of yet more magic fingers. Maybe that's why Dean was in such a good mood that morning... Details: Exterior , leaflet, and sign. Prop Re-use: Lamp from Faith and LDC, and bedding from Faith, Nightmare and HotH. The Bounty Inn (3x11) ![]() This one evokes thoughts of prisons and mental institutions, yes? Complimenting Sam's state of mind at the time. Note the metal chairs, the cinder block wall, and the muted uninspiring colour scheme. It's lifeless. It's anal-retentively tidy and well-organized. It's the epitome of a room untouched by Dean Winchester. Seriously, never before has a single bed looked so sad and out of place. Details: Exterior, and leaflet. Prop Re-use: Lamp from AVSC. Location: The Buck and Ear Bar and Grill and The Steveston Hotel was the location for the exterior. The Wagon Trail Motel (3x12) ![]() AHAHAHAH. The horse and cowboy room dividers, the tree branch wall lamps, the horses and buggies all over the bedding and wallpaper. Plus cowboy hats hanging by the door! AMAZING. Though I'm still unconvinced that Sam could actually sleep in a bed that small. Details: Leaflet. Prop re-use: Bed frame from AVSC. The Starburst Motel (3x14) ![]() ![]() Details: Leaflet. SO GLORIOUSLY RETRO. And not in a stylized but actually-brand-new way, either. The wallpaper looks discoloured from time and thousands of occupants. The divider also looks to be a faded version of it's original poppy colour, though it's still just maybe my favourite room divider of all. Love the itty bitty sofa, the old school kitchen appliances, and the super pretty kitchen table straight from my grandma's house. Prop re-use: Lamp from Mystery Spot. The Erie (3x15) ![]() This room pleases me and I'm not entirely sure why. I can't see an obvious theme here, and there's a serious mish mash of patterns happening, but the pinks and oranges and browns and golds are all so pretty, and the whole thing works together. Love the floral wallpaper. Dig the funky lamps. Would totally steal that gold floral wall art thingy if I could. Plus, striped bedding is the easiest way to my heart. And another wall of mirrors, this time with appliqué foliage (totally bringing things full circle there with the appliqué, there). And to top it off, the exterior of this one is seriously pretty. Details: Exterior, and leaflet. Return to season one. Return to season two. Return to part 1 of season three.
